Continuing Education
If you are looking to broaden your knowledge and experience in TCM and Taoist Medicine, World Medicine is continually developing programs that will offer continued education opportunities. Currently CEU credit can be received from certain lecture intensives as well as the Kapoho and China intensives.
Taoist Medicine Doctoral Program
World Medicine is currently researching the demand for a Doctorate of Taoist Medicine program. WMI is collaborating with a leading Chinese University, selected Taoist Temples and a French University. This will be a three year program. Two academic years, with one spent in China and one in Hawaii. The third year is an internship which can be done in either China, Hawaii or France. Doctoral Program Majors
- Taoist Medicine: Prevention & treatment of disorders in the areas of internal medicine, women's health, orthopedics, immunology, & psychology
- History of Taoism: Indepth study of Taoism from its origins through to today.
- Archeology (Taoism): A degree in archeology for those interested in discovering the secrets of Taoism.
- Taoist Ministry: For those interested in pursuing religious studies and the healing of conditions such as suicide, & other issues of life and dying
- TCM Scientific Research: Collaborative research studying the effectiveness of TCM on a wide range of issues, like drug detoxification.
Other Opportunities
We strongly encourage resent graduates to stay in contact with the school and act as a mentor for current students. This enriches the experience of the student and deepens the understanding of the alumni. Alumni can also participate in the clinic assistant program, give a presentation, write for the WMI or Tai Hsuan Blogs or work with other alumni and students to coordinate community events.
